Jubilee celebrations

The Parish came together to celebrate the Jubilee in a series of events, splendidly organised by the Community Events Team. 

 

The long weekend began in the beautiful sunshine with a barbecue at The Old Olive Bush followed by the lighting of a beacon on Bush Hill. Many thanks to Linda and to Jill & Richard.

Saturday saw a great turnout for the official opening of the Wolfhampcote Recreation and Cricket field. The Chair of the Parish Council, Jim Conning, thanked all involved with the purchase before handing the scissors to Janet Alderson-Smith to cut the ribbon and to declare the field open to all.  Although the weather was not kind, the cricket team then enjoyed the wonderful support of the  Parish for a closely-fought match.

An autumnal Sunday could not dissuade Wolfhampcotians from getting together to round off the weekend with a party at the village hall. A great turnout and some great food before retreating back into the warmth of the hall to watch the pageantry on the big screen.
